About This Project

I’m not letting the winter blues get me down! The winter flowers are what gets me through winter. My favourite winter flower has to be the camellia. Camellias in pinks, whites and reds are everywhere! It was about time I did a photo shoot incorporating them. A beauty photography shoot in my Melbourne photo studio was just the right setting for these beautiful blooms. The makeup and flowers were the focus of this photo shoot.

Spring Beauty Photography in Melbourne

For this Melbourne Spring Beauty shoot, I teamed up with Jacqui from Makeup by Jacquelyn. We had a couple of beautiful models come into the studio and we created some magical photos with flowers as the only props. These gorgeous blooms were growing in abundance around us. Camellias and blossoms don’t last long after being cut, so it was nice to be able to grab some on the day and shoot them before they wilted away.

For my model, Laura, I asked Jacqui to give me a look which screamed ‘Spring’. It was originally meant to compliment some blossoms, which I did shoot this look with. Then, right before we finished the shoot, I asked Laura to pose with a single white camellia. Although the other photos from the day are also stunning, this set of shots is my favourite of the day.

These photos really make me feel Spring when I look at them. The blue eyeshadow with winged eyeliner is so striking, and the camellia adds elegance to the picture.
